Let us continue reading the responsibilities of manufacturers, importers, assemblers and re-conditioners. Here are the duties which must be complied with, by each of the above-mentioned persons.

(i) to collect and ensure that used batteries are properly collected back as per the Schedule;
(ii) to collect batteries that are of similar types and similar specifications in return of the new batteries sold;
(iii) to file a half-yearly return of their sales and buy-back to the State Board in Form-I before the due date of 30^th June and 31^st December of every year.
(iv) to establish collection centers at various places for collection of used acid batteries from consumers or dealers;
(v) make sure that used batteries that are collected are sent only to the registered recyclers;
(vi) ensure that safe transportation is done while transporting used batteries to the premises of registered users;
(vii) keep a check that no damage is cause to the environment;
(viii) create public awareness by making advertisements, publications, posters or other means with regard to the following:-

• hazards of lead
• responsibility of the consumer to return used batteries only to dealers or deliver at designated collection centers;
• address of dealers and designated collected centers

(ix) use the international recycling sign on the Batteries
(x) buy recycled lead only from registered recyclers
(xi) bring to the notice of the State Board
(x) ensure that new batteries are sold only to registered dealers.
