The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) introduced the MCA V3 portal which is an upgraded portal. From version 2 of MCA to version 3, some changes have appeared. The LLP Services which were available on the V2 portal have now been discontinued on V2 portal and now migrated to the V3 portal.

What is MCA V3 portal?
MCA V3 is an enhanced version of the V2 portal and is presently in existence only for LLP’s. The MCA V3 portal presently enables the following for LLP’s
- Login & user registration
- DSC Association
- LLP Form Filing
It is an upgraded and enhanced version of MCA and till now LLP forms are only migrated to the mca v3 portal while all the company forms are still in Version 2 of MCA portal. This new update has been made to enable a smooth transition of the project.

Is there a separate website for MCA V3 portal?
Actually not, the mca v3 portal provides MCA v3 portal on the same website. So, search mca.gov.in and there will open the portal wherein separate access is provided for LLP and separate for company-related filing.
The registered user being an individual can only perform 2 functions in the LLP module-RUN Form and fillip form. However, there is no major change in the naming or position of a registered user between V2 and V3.
What is the difference between MCA V2 and MCA V3 portal?
- The MCA previous version i.e. MCA V2 was there where forms relating to company registration were filed and uploaded on the portal itself. However, in the case of V3 the forms shall be filed online.
This difference has been brought out by the department of ministry of corporate affairs in order to enable the user to save their half-filed form and file it later on.
- Moreover, MCA V2 consisted of My Workspace which included list of notices from MCA and circulars issued. While, in version 3 of MCA, there is a specialized “My Application” feature that provides a person to view all the forms filed by him or her till date along with the status of the forms such as pending for DSC, upload, under process, pay fees, resubmission etc.
- If we talk about the previous version of MCA, for login there used to be user id and password. However, in the case of version MCA V3 the login into account is possible through the email id.
Registered User in MCA V3
Registered users comprise of any individuals. Such users can only perform 2 functions in the LLP module – RUN Form and fillip form. There is no change in the naming or position of a registered user between V2 and V3.
Business User in MCA V2
A business user can be any of the following and they can access and file all the forms. There is no change in the naming or position of a Business user between V2 and V3. The most suitable category may be selected
- Company/LLP
- Director/Designated Partner
- Manager/Secretary/Authorized Representative
- Officer in Default
- Professional
LLP Filing in MCA V3
After a person has registered as a new user in V3, you are then eligible to immediately start filing LLP-related forms. Some requirements are generic across all categories, there exist some special requirements for other categories namely:-
- E Mail Id / Phone Number / Address are required for both Registered and Business
- Users)
- PAN is non-mandatory for registered users but compulsory for business users
- Company/LLP User – CIN /LLPIN /FLLPIN / FCRN
- Director/Designated Partner – DIN / DPIN
