Consent to Operate

Consent to operate is formally, the permission that needs to be obtained by the concerned authority i.e.  the designated state pollution control committee, which acts as the permission granted to the mentioned business to allow the business operation to start.

Delhi located industries are classified in Red, Orange, Green, White Category.

Red Category – under this category, the industrial sectors having a Pollution Index Score of 60 and above have been classified.

Orange Category – under the orange category, the industrial sectors having a Pollution Index Score of 41 to 59 have been classified.

Green Category – under this category comes industrial sectors having a Pollution Index Score of 21 to 40.

White Category – Industrial Sectors having Pollution Index Score incl & up to 20 are covered under White Category

Under DPCC, white category shall not be required to obtain Consent to Establish/ Operate under the Air & Water Acts. Whereas the remaining Red, Orange and Green Category are only required to apply for Consent to Establish/ Operate under the Air & Water Act.

Consent to Operate/ Renewal shall be granted for 5 years in case of Red/Orange Category and 10 years in case of Green category of industries.
